Active AQUA Air Conditioners I use the AACH10HP for controlling fermentation temperature when brewing beer. The Active Aqua chills water which in turn chills fermenting beer. I now have completed several ale brews and one lager brew with it. I did not expect any problems holding a temperature in the mid to high sixties, but I was pleasantly pleased to see it hold the temperature of 6 gallons of beer in the low forties with the ambient temperature at 72 degrees. At no point did the system seem to be struggling to keep up - which was a relief since I had worried that I undersized the system and should have purchased the .25HP. Hopefully it will run reliably for many, many more brews over several years. Since I purchased this as a brand new model, no one really knows the useful life. So far, so good. I don't know how I managed before I purchased a water chiller and the Active Aqua is working well.

Best Active AQUA Air Conditioners The unit itself is great However the box was labeled "heavy" but did not have any "this side up" and "fragile" stickers anywhere on outside. It came with front cover dislodged and collars around the bottom of In and Out were loose and had to be tightened. I initially ran the machine for 12 hrs and came home from work and the temp had not changed at all. Pulled the front cover off all the way that had initially been dislodged and an object that resembles a large capacitor on a plate was loose and not in it's place. Found a 2 pin connector that sits behind this plate and capacitor and plugged it in and the unit has performed flawlessly since. In my opinion the vendor should do 2 things in the future. 1. sticker the units shipped on the outside of the amazon box that it is a fragile unit and a "this side up" as it was on it's side on my front porch when I came home from work. In shipping it was handled hard enough to dislodge that item pushing the front panel open and unplugging part function of the compressor. I still give the item 5 stars as the item once fixed from shipping works great.

Active AQUA Air Conditioners Like another reviewer had said, the chiller came with water in it, sealed with rubber caps. I'm assuming this is their QC team making sure everything is functional. Mine came with slight coil damage, but it's minor. I also had to remove the front panel and place it back on correctly, most likely from shopping and handling. I will not be removing stars for something out of the suppliers control.Those were the only negative things about the chiller. It works great and does a good job of keeping my reservoir at 68. Louisiana summer is coming so I'll most likely be updating this later!
